PSB academy's MBA programme

B-SCHOOL ZONE

PSB academy of Singapore, in partnership with the University of Newcastle, Australia, will offer an MBA programme to Indian students. Fresh graduates with good academic standing (min GPA should be 4.5 out of 7) from approved institutions can apply for the course.

Learning to sell
IIM-Indore will be organising a programme on 'Selling Skills for Selling Success' to train and groom frontline sales people to be effective sales persons. The programme is designed keeping the role and function of sales people in mind across different markets.

The coach: Prof. Tapan K. Panda
The players: Sales and Service Executives in product, service and concept selling, sales supervisors and sales trainers in different size of public and private organisations.

The programme will commence from July 2-4, at the IIM-Indore campus and the fee is Rs 12,000 (residential) per participant.

US orientation programme
The US Educational Foundation, India, will hold a pre-departure orientation programme for students going to the US this September.

The programme will be held on June 9 and will cover various immigration issues "� from first week formalities on campus to academic and socio-cultural issues, through interactive sessions.

An interactive session with a panel of returnee students and a video presentation is also scheduled. The programme is open to all and requires prior registration with a fee of Rs 200.

Decision-making techniques
IIM-Lucknow will be organising a programme on 'Decision-making Techniques for Managers'. The programme aims at enabling the participants to understand the process of decision-making, identify and overcome the barriers in the decision-making process, developing decision-making skills, appreciate different perspectives of the decision and their implications.

The coach: Dr. Sushil Kumar
The players: Middle-level managers from diverse backgrounds, participants from areas like HRD, marketing, operations, finance and others.

The programme will be organised at the IIM-L campus from July 27-29, and the fee is Rs 20,250 per participant.

Simulation Workshop
The Capstone® business simulation workshop will be held at ICRISAT, Hyderabad. The programme developed in 1986 by Management Simulations Inc., USA, is as an executive education program for corporate clients, and is also used in executive education programs at leading business schools.

The coach: Dharam Pal, MBA, University of La Verne, California, USA The workshop will be held at Internatioal Crops Research Institute for the Semi Aid Tropics (ICRISAT), Hyderabad on from 06-08.

Trust for Manjunath

The IIM alumnus have formed a trust in the name of the whistleblower Manjunath Shanmugam, an IIM-Lucknow graduate who was murdered last November in Lakhimpur Khiri, Lucknow.

The trust which aims to collect Rs 50 lakh, has so far collected Rs 20.5 lakh through donations. The IIM alumnus plan to build a corpus fund of 50 lakh and deposit the same to generate interest.

The money would be used to fight Manjunath's case and also to help in similar cases. Manjunath's case will come up for hearing on June 5-7 at the Lakhimpur Khiri court in Lucknow.
