The post graduate diploma (PGDM) institutions can carry on with their respective businesses at least for academic year 2014-15.
In a big relief to PGDM institutions, All India Council for Technical Education will continue to regulate them.
The Supreme court in an order dictated today said: “This is an Application seeking directions concerning the continuance of AICTE as the regulatory body for the PGDM institutions...In view of Page 1 this submission that AICTE will be Regulating the PGDM institutions for the year 2014-15, no further orders are required on this Application.”

EPSI had filed an interim application with a prayer to direct AICTE to take necessary steps to initiate the process of granting extension of approval for the year 2014-15.
"We are pleased to inform you that this is a big relief for the PGDM institutions, who are all concerned about the impending crisis looming large," EPSI said. The society said it would be intimating both the AICTE and the MHRD to initiate further necessary steps immediately.
