The book that inspired me

I have been a voracious reader since fourth standard, reading mostly Marathi and English books. My favourite authors are P G Woodehouse, Pu La Deshpande, Robert Ludlum, John Grisham and David Baldacci. But my all-time favourite book is The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.

The book was written in 1943, but still remains extremely relevant even today in both content and philosophy. It describes the struggle of Howard Roark, an outstanding architect, and his battle with a mediocre society.

Even today, we see how the voice of sanity is drowned by the sheer lung power of insane and mediocre people. The courtroom speech of Howard is a classic in itself, where, he extols the virtues of integrity and creativity.

Self-esteem of an individual is the fountainhead of humanity's creativity and progress is the main message of this pathbreaking work. Whenever you are feeling down and out, just flip through the pages of The Fountainhead and you will definitely be re-energised.
