With modern retail occupying about 95% space in malls, no wonder, its growth has been lead by increased mall development. There are 470 operational malls in India and 250 are upcoming. Trading densities are set to reach 1,475 per square foot by 2016, making retail viable in malls, says an Images Retail Research report
