Even in the times of meltdown, the education sector seems to be a favourite option with corporates planning a sucessful venture. In the backdrop of open economic policies, liberal trade regime and global mobility of resources throwing new challenges to the management education, Unitedworld School of Business aims to produce skilled management resources, trained to engage themselves with major global trends and new economic world order.
"With the launch of Unitedworld School of Business, we aim to build a management institute to nurture Indian talents with a continuous source and support of industry relevant content. The institute has been the initiative of a group of senior level professionals and academicians in India, supported by economists, academicians as well as management stalwarts of Indian origin spread across the world. We have planned three campuses at Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Mumbai and are planning a residential campus at Delhi by 2011. We have already acquired the land for the same and the total investment for the projects is Rs 60 crore," said Ritesh Hada, managing director of the institute.
Keeping the employability factor of MBAs in mind, Unitedworld has created a three tier placement approach for its graduates. While Tier I provides zonal placement, Tier II works for national placement and Tier III provide international career opportunities. For this purpose, according to Hada, corporate relations offices will be set up in Singapore, London and Dubai by end of 2009.
"Unitedworld's breakthrough initiatives include being empowered with an education ERP system 'i-campus' incubated at IIM Ahmedabad campus, besides providing a structured system of supporting budding entrepreneurs through the venture capital and entrepreneurship cell, an industry advisory council, CEO lecture series and research orientation," Hada added.
All set to commence its first batch in July-August this year, the business school offers two year post graduate program in management (PGPM), two year PGPM in financial services and a one year executive program in business strategy.
