Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) plans to roll out a one-year Global Management programme for working executives by January 2010. This programme will have an intake of 50 seats and working executives with at least five years of experience are eligible for the programme.
“We have already applied to the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for the proposed Global Management programme and we expect to get the AICTE approval for this programme by March next year”, PT Joseph, director, XIMB told Business Standard.
Initially, XIMB had planned to forge a tie-up with Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi for the Global Management programme but later the premier B-school decided to go on its own for introducing the programme.
XIMB is currently in the process of finalising details of the programme like course curriculum and mode of pedagogy.
Asked on the institute’s plan for setting up its second campus, Joseph said, “We are keeping our fingers crossed over the proposed second campus as we are yet to receive any communication from the Orissa government on allotment of land.”
The management institute had sought 60 acres of land from the Orissa government in the city for setting up its second campus. The institute was also open to establish its second campus in alternative locations of the state like Khurda and Cuttack.
XIMB had also started scouting for private and in and around the city owing to the delay in allotment of land by the state government. The institute had even approached neighbouring states for allotment of land for the second campus.
