 "10 Nifty50 stocks hits 52-week high")
10 Nifty 50 stocks have touched their respective 52-week highs in intra-day trade after the benchmark index gained more than 3% in the past five trading sessions.
ITC, Yes Bank, Bajaj Auto, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), UltraTech Cement, ACC, Hindalco Industries, NTPC, Power Grid Corporation and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) from the Nifty 50 index hit 52-week highs on Friday.
Meanwhile, total 37 stocks from the Nifty 500 index hit their respective 52-week highs in intra-day trade. The list includes Astral Poly Technik, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Godrej Consumer Products, JSW Steel, SKS Microfinance and Titan Company.
At 11:05 AM, Nifty 50 index, up 0.80% at 8,354, rallied 3% thus far during the current week.
The recovery is believed to be on the back of improving prospects of domestic economy, hopes of good monsoon and clearance of the GST bill in the next parliament session, Angel Broking said in a note.
ITC has rallied 7% to Rs 260 on the NSE in intra-day trade. The stock turned ex-bonus in the ratio of 1:2 today.
BPCL hit high of Rs 1,102, also its record high in early morning deal after prices of petrol and diesel were reduced with effect from midnight of 30 June/1 July 2016. The stock will turn ex-bonus on July 13, 2016 in the ratio of 1:1.
UltraTech Cement too touched high of Rs 3,485 on the NSE. There is speculation that UltraTech Cement's Rs 15,900 crore Jaypee deal has come under trouble.
The Exchange has sought clarification from UltraTech Cement with reference to the news appeared in Mint "UltraTech Cement's Rs 15,900 crore Jaypee deal hits hurdles". The reply is awaited.
However, according to Business Standard report suggests that Jaiprakash Associates' plan to sell 21.2 million tonne per annum (mtpa) cement capacity to UltraTech Cement is on track, claim both the companies. LINK
