It is turning out into another lacklustre session of trade. After recouping the early morning losses, the markets have seemingly slipped into a state of stupor with weakness in the realty sector acting as a counter-weight to the gains in the power space. The Sensex is quoting at 17691, lower by 52 points and the Nifty is at 5307, down 14 points.

The realty space continues to look weak; Jaiprakash Associates has weakened by 2.3% at Rs 155 and DLF has lost 1.2% at Rs 318. Among the non-index realty stocks, Parsvnath Developers has lost nearly 2%, and Indiabulls Real Estate has shed about a per cent. Maruti has shed 3% at Rs 1293, while SBI and RIL have lost 1% each at Rs 2227 andRs 1059 respectively.

On the other hand, ONGC has appreciated by 2.6% at Rs 1043, M&M has gained 2.1% at Rs 539 and HDFC has added 1.5% at Rs 2870. Power stocks are also in the limelight, though, with NTPC, Tata Power and ABB adding upto one percent.

The BSE market breadth is positive. Out of 2880 stocks traded, 1,396 have advanced while 1374 have declined.
