Afrin Dia buys 13.4 lakh shares of IndusInd Bank

Afrin Dia bought 13.40 lakh shares of IndusInd Bank from Societe Bancaire Privee SA through open market transactions

A foreign institutional investor, Afrin Dia, today picked up 13.4 lakh shares of the private sector lender IndusInd Bank for an estimated Rs 54 crore.

As per information available with the stock exchanges, Afrin Dia bought 13.40 lakh shares of IndusInd Bank from Societe Bancaire Privee SA through open market transactions.

The shares were purchased on an average price of Rs 402.5 valuing the transaction at Rs 53.93 crore.

At the end of March quarter, Afrin Dia, a sub-account of Icon Capital Ltd, held 1.29 crore shares, amounting to 2.47% stake, in IndusInd Bank.

IndusInd Bank has become part of the National Stock Exchange's 50-share benchmark index, Nifty, from April 1.
 

The bank is scheduled to post its earnings for the financial year 2012-13 on Thursday.

Shares of IndusInd Bank grew 0.58% to settle at Rs 402.15 apiece on the BSE.
