Buoyed with the success of first ever book on stock markets in Braille, the Calcutta Stock Exchange is further planning launch a recorded version of the book soon.
The idea is to educate specially challenged people about stock markets, as there is good demand for the book, according to B Madhav Reddy, managing director and chief executive officer, CSE.
Last month, CSE launched a 40 page book on stock markets in Braille, called, Taking Stock.
Authored by Samik Bhaduri, assistant manager, of the exchange, the exchange published the book through its Investor Protection Fund Trust, in association with the Regional Braille Press of Ramakrishna Mission.
So far, about 1,000 copies of Taking Stock have been published, and there plans to publish another 1,000.
“We have distributed the book to libraries, free of cost. The response has been very good, and going by the demand, we are looking to come out with recorded version of the book soon,” said Reddy.
