<b>Akruti City tanks 55%, stock now out of F&amp;O</b>

Akruti City tanked heavily today. The stock from a hgih of Rs 1,948, nose-dived to a low of Rs 670 - down 65.6% from the day's high.

The stock eventually ended with a huge loss of 55% at Rs 819. The counter witnessed relatively huge volumes of around 42.55 lakh shares on the BSE.

Akruti City plunged to a low of Rs 1,112 - down almost 43% from the day's high of Rs 1,948. At 1310 hrs the stock was trading at Rs 1,260 - down 31% from its previous close on the BSE. Around 24.70 lakh shares have changed hands so far on the counter.

Akruti City is in focus today as all the derivatives contract come to close as per the Sebi order.

 

On March 19, Sebi had via its circular had excluded Akruti City from futures and options (F&O) segment. The exchange said that fresh monthly contracts will not be introduced in Akruti for expiry month June 2009 on expiration of March 2009 contracts. Accordingly, no F&O contract will be available in Akruti fror trading from March 27, 2009 onwards.

Akrtui City today touched a high of Rs 1,948 in opening trades, up over Rs 100 from its previous close. The stock however soon slumped into red and tumbled to a low of Rs 1,330 - down nearly 32% from the day's high.

At 1115 hrs, the stock is trading with a hefty loss of over 24% at Rs 1,380 on the BSE. The counter has seen trades of around 13.66 lakh shares so far.
