Almond declines on subdued demand

Almond and its kernel prices declined on the wholesale dry fruits market today, largely due to subdued demand against adequate supply.

Traders said fall in demand from stockists and retailers against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down almond and its kernel prices.

Almond (California) declined by Rs 100 to Rs 9,700 per 40 kg. Its kernel shed Rs 5 to Rs 350-355 per kg.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per 40 kg:

Almond (California) Rs 9,700 Almond (gurbandi-new) Rs 4,950-5,150 almond (girdhi) Rs 2,700-2,800 and Abjosh Afghani Rs 7,000-20,000.

Almond kernel in per kg (California) Rs 350-355,almond kernel (gurbandi-new) (kg) Rs 325-425.
