Press Trust of India New Delhi

Almond continued its slide for the fourth day with prices falling by another Rs 8.75 to Rs 296 per kg today, as speculators offloaded their holdings, triggered by increased arrivals in the spot markets.

However, festive demand at the spot markets, capped the losses.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, almond for delivery in December declined by Rs 8.75, or 2.96 per cent, to Rs 296.00 per kg.

Traders said continued offloading by speculators, driven by increased arrivals mainly led to a fall in almond prices but festive season demand, restricted losses.
