Almond prices continued to slide for the second straight day by losing Rs 9.50 to Rs 313.50 per kg today, as speculators booked profits amid a weak trend at spot markets.

Increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on the almond futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, almond for delivery in December fell by Rs 9.50, or 2.94 per cent, to Rs 313.50 per kg. It clocked a single business lot.

Traders said continued profit booking by speculators on sluggish demand in the spot market against increased arrivals, mainly pulled down almond futures prices.
