Almond imports are likely to rise by 10 per cent during 2001-02 to 26,000 tonne as against 21,000 tonne in the previous year due to a potential 13 per cent increase in demand and low export prices in the US.
However, if the prices in the domestic market are on the higher side, imports could go up further, traders said.
Traders added that a large part of the imports would be sourced from the US.
