Almond rises in futures trade on fresh demand

In a range bound trading, almond prices improved by Rs 0.50 or 0.16 per cent to Rs 319 per kg in futures trade today on fresh demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, almond for June contract gained Rs 0.50, or 0.16 per cent to Rs 319 per kg, with an open interest of 139 lots.

However, almond for delivery in July contract held steady at Rs 336.25 per kg, with an open interest of two lots.

Marketmen said fresh demand in the spot market helped almond prices to trade higher at futures trade.
