Alstom Projects gains on NHPC order

Alstom Projects gained on bagging new order. The stock of power equipment company was up 6.3 per cent to Rs 210.80 after hitting an intra-day high of Rs 221.50. The stock was at its all-time high in Tuesday's trading. More than 11.68 lakh shares changed hands on BSE on Tuesday.
 
The company announced that it has received an order from National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) for the supply of electro-mechanical equipment for the 2000 mw Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project.
 
The total contract is valued at Rs 1,550 crore and the share of Alstom Projects will be Rs 745 crore. The stock has witnessed smart gains in the last two months. From a low of Rs 131.25 on January 24, 2005, the scrip has jumped to Tuesday's close of Rs 210.98.
