Alumininum futures marginally up in thin trade

Aluminium prices moved up by Rs 0.15, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 95.60 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators enlarged their positions after taking cues from other base metals.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, aluminium for delivery in September contract rose Rs 0.15, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 95.60 per kg, with a turnover of 37 lots.

The metal for delivery in August contract also edged up by Rs 0.10, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 94.75 per kg, with a business turnover of 455 lots.

Marketmen said firmness in other industrial metals and increased demand for the metal from consuming industries, mainly supported the aluminium futures prices here.
