Alumininum inches up in futures trade, gains 0.51%

Aluminium traded a shade higher by Rs 0.50, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 98.15 per kg in futures trade today, tracking gains in other base metals.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, aluminium for delivery in October contract rose Rs 0.50, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 98.15 per kg, with a turnover of 142 lots.

The metal for delivery in September contract also gained Rs 0.45, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 97.10 per kg, with a turnover of 2,927 lots.

Marketmen said apart from better trend at the physical markets on the back of pick up in demand, firmness in base metals overseas after China's manufacturing expanded at faster pace in August also influenced the aluminium futures.
