Alumininum rises 2.48% on higher global trend

Aluminium prices rose by Rs 2.25, up 2.48 per cent, to Rs 93 per kg in futures trading today, as traders enlarged their positions on the back of a firming global trend.


At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in August contract rose Rs 2.25, up 2.48 per cent, to Rs 93 per kg, with an open interest of 40 lots.


Similarly, the metal for delivery in current-month June contract gained Rs 2.20, up 2.48 per cent, to Rs 91 per kg, with an open interest of 2,529 lots.


Market analysts said, besides, a firming trend at the London Metal Exchange, fresh buying by traders on pick up in demand from consuming industries led to a rise in aluminium prices at futures market here.

 

Meanwhile, aluminum rose 2.3 per cent to USD 1,988 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
