Aluminium prices moved down by Rs 0.35, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 102.10 per kg in futures trade today after speculators booked profits amid weak trend at the physical markets.
Weak trend in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange after overnight gains, also kept pressure on the aluminium futures.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, aluminium for delivery in August month contracts fell by Rs 0.35, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 102.10 per kg, with a turnover of 6 lots.
The metal for delivery in September contract also eased by Rs 0.30, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 103.10 per kg, with a turnover of 1 lot.
At the London Metal Exchange, aluminum changed little at $2,215 a tonne.
Marketmen said the weakness in aluminium futures was mostly due to profit-taking by speculators at prevailing levels and subdued demand for the metal at the spot markets.
