Aluminium adds 0.32% on spot demand, global cues

Metal gains 1.5% to $1,981 a tonne on LME

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Aluminium prices went up by 0.32 per cent to Rs 108.15 per kg in futures trade today as participants enlarged their positions, supported by a firming trend overseas.

Strong demand in the spot markets also influenced metal prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in January inched up by 35 paise, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 108.15 per kg in business turnover of 226 lots.

The February contract rose by a similar margin to Rs 109.70 per kg in 13 lots.

Marketmen said apart from increased domestic demand, a firming global trend helped aluminium futures to trade higher.

Meanwhile, aluminium climbed 1.5 per cent to $1,981.50 tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
