Aluminium futures traded 0.52 per cent lower at Rs 105.70 per kg today, as speculators reduced their holdings at prevailing levels even as metal strengthened overseas in the previous session.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, aluminium for December delivery fell by 55 paise, or 0.52 per cent to Rs 105.70 per kg, with an open interest of 270 lots.
Aluminium for delivery in January also shed 45 paise, or 0.42 per cent to Rs 106.85 per kg, with a trade volume of 10 lots.
Marketmen said weakness in aluminium futures was mostly due to a weak trend in other base metals but overnight gains in metal at the London Metal Exchange, restricted losses.
