Aluminium futures up on domestic demand, global trend

Supported by gains in the Asian region and good demand in physical markets, aluminium futures rose by Rs 0.40, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 94 per kg today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in July contract also edged higher by Rs 0.40, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 94 per kg, with a turnover of 279 lots.

Likewise, the delivery in August contract also traded Rs 0.35, or 0.37 per cent higher, at Rs 94.95 per kg, with a turnover of 46 lots.

Market analysts said gains in metal prices at Shanghai, firming trend in entire base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange and good demand at domestic markets also supported the rise in aluminium prices at futures market here.

 

Meanwhile, aluminium traded 65 yuan, or 0.44 per cent higher at 14,960 per tonne in early trade today.
