Aluminium prices are up by 0.29 per cent to Rs 105.55 per kg in futures trading today, as speculators enlarged their positions taking cues from the firm overseas markets amid pick up in spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for November contract delivery rose by 30 paise, or 0.29 per cent to Rs 105.55 per kg, with a business turnover of 4 lots.

The metal for October contract delivery also edged up by 25 paise, or 0.24 per cent to Rs 104.50 per kg in a turnover of just 209 lots.

Meanwhile, the London Metal Exchange-Index of six metals jumped 1.1 per cent to highest level since April.

Analysts said apart from firming trend in the base metals overseas followed by pick up in spot market demand helped aluminium futures to trade higher.
