Aluminium up 0.33% on global cues

Aluminium prices gained 0.33% to Rs 106.45 per kg in the futures market today, taking positive cues from overseas markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in February rose by 35 paise, or 0.33%, to Rs 106.45 per kg, with a business volume of 169 lots.

The March contract rose by 30 paise, or 0.28% to Rs 108.10 per kg in a turnover of five lots.

Globally, aluminum rose 1.2% to $2,185.25 per tonne in early trade today at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Analysts said besides strength in the entire base metals pack at the LME, rising demand at spot markets also influenced aluminium prices in futures trade.
