Tracking a firming global trend, aluminium prices traded higher by 0.40% to Rs 114.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in November traded higher by 45 paise, or 0.40% to Rs 114.30 per kg in business turnover of 1092 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in December edged up by 30 paise, or 0.26% to Rs 115.70 per kg in 17 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in aluminium futures to a firm global trend as manufacturing in China expanded more than estimated, boosting the outlook for the metals in the world's biggest user.
Meanwhile, aluminium for the contracts for delivery in three months rose 0.8% to $1,873.75 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
