Aluminium futures for January went up by 50 paise, or 0.46%, to Rs 109.95 per kg in 735 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the February contract traded 40 paise, or 0.36%, higher at Rs 111.20 per kg in 105 lots.

Speculators enlarging positions, firming spot market trend on strong demand supported the trade.

Pick- up in industrial demand helped aluminium futures trade. Weak metals at the London Metal Exchange restricted gains.
