Ambuja Cements has gained 5.8% to Rs 82. Bhel has advanced 5.6% to Rs 1,382. HDFC has surged 4% at Rs 2,101. HDFC Bank is up 3.8% to Rs 1,130.
Bharti has gained 3.7% to Rs 777. Cipla has advanced 3.4% to Rs 218.
Jaiprakash Associates, Tata Steel, NTPC, SBI, Reliance, DLF, ICICI Bank, l&T and TCS are the other gainers.
Grasim has declined 1.9% to Rs 2,217. Tata Motors and Hindustan Unilever are down 1.5% to Rs 512 and Rs 234. ITC has lost 1.1% to Rs 201. Reliance Communications has slipped 1% to Rs 550 and ONGC has lost less than half per cent.
