Amtek India has surged 5% to Rs 62.90 on reporting a more than double net profit at Rs 60 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2013 (Q3), on back of strong operational performance. The company had profit of Rs 28 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
Net sales grew 61% to Rs 626 crore for the quarter, against Rs 390 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous year.
EBITDA or operating profit has increased by 62% yoy at Rs 204 crore, while margins remain flat at around 32.3% during the quarter under review.
The stock opened at Rs 64 and touched a high of Rs 64.50 on BSE. A combined 172,188 shares changed hands on the counter so far on the BSE and NSE.
