Archies soars 11%, volume jump 34-fold

The stock finally ended with a huge gain of 11% at Rs 89. The volume jumped 34 fold to 263,094 shares as against the two-week daily average trade of 7,586 shares on the BSE.

Archies has zoomed 17% to Rs 93, on the back of 11% increase in net profit for the quarter ended June,2009.

The scrip touched a high of Rs 94, after opening at Rs 78.50.  Around 161,100 shares have changed hands so far on the counter, which is more than 21 times, as compared to its two-week average traded quantity of 7,586 shares.

The stock has witnessed a spike of 37% within a month.

The net profit for the first quarter ended June stands at Rs 87.63 crore as against Rs 78.77 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The total income of the company increased to Rs 2,829.39 crore from Rs 2,573.16 crore previous year.
