Shares of Ashok Leyland were up over 2% at Rs 94 after the company announced robust sales in September 2015 compared to the same month last year.
Total sales increased 61% to 14,771 units in September 2015 compared to sale of 9,185 units in September 2014, the company said in release.
Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles surged 83% to 12,134 units in September 2015 compared to 6,625 units in the corresponding month last year. Sale of light commercial vehicles were marginally up by 3% at 2,637 units compared with 2,560 units in September 2014, the release added.
The stock opened at Rs 93 and touched a high of Rs 95. At 1:50pm, over 15.4 million shares were traded on both the stock exchanges.
