Ashok Leyland slips after Nov sales drop 27%

The stock was down 2% at Rs 16.45 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Shares of Ashok Leyland were down nearly 2% at Rs 16.45 after the company announced 27% decline in total sales during the month of November compared with the same month last year.

Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle sales in November 2013 stood at 2,715 units, down 39% compared with 4,487 units in November 2012, the company said in a filing to the stock exchanges.

Sale of light commercial vehicle products dropped 8% to 2,660 in November 2013 compared with 2,883 units in the corresponding month last year, the statement said.

Over 2.4 million shares were trading on both the stock exchanges so far.
