Asian markets end in red; Hang Seng down 137pts

The Hang Seng  recovered half of its losses and ended  137 points down at 17,062. The Nikkei slipped 38 points to 9,226.

The Shanghai Composite was down 13 points at 2,598.

The Seoul Composite ended down by  18 points at 1,404.

However, the Straits Times was up 27 points at 2,238  and the Taiwan Weighted advanced 18 points at 6,737.

Asian markets have slipped into the red.

The Hang Seng has slumped 324 points (2%) to 16,875. Japan's Nikkei has dropped 62 points to 9,203.

The Shanghai Composite has declined 13 points to 2,597. The Seoul Composite is marginally down by 11 points at 1,411. The Straits Times is flat at 2,203.

 

The Taiwan Weighted is up 24 points at 6,742.

The Hang Seng is up marginally at 17,234. The Nikkei has slipped seven points to 9,257.

The Shanghai Composite has increased 12 points to 2,599.

The Straits Times has advanced 12 points to 2,223 and the Taiwan Weighted Index has added 22 points to 6,741.

The Seoul Composite is up five points at 1,426.
