Asian markets end in the red

The Asian markets ended in the red.

The Hang Seng plunged 528 points or 2.5% to 19,894 and Nikkei dropped 212 points or 2% to 10,123.

The Straits Times and Seoul Composite declined around 1% each to 2,743 and 1,593 respectively.

The Shanghai Composite and Taiwan Weighted were shut for trading on account of national holidays.

The Hang Seng has plunged 463 points or 2% to 19,958.

The Nikkei has dropped 135 points or 1% to 10,201.

The Straits Times and the Seoul Composite Index have declined 1% each to 2,739 and 1,600, respectively.

The Asian markets have opened weak. The Hang Seng is quoting at 19,996, weaker by 425 points or 2% and Nikkei is at 10,259, down 76 points or 0.7%.

 

Straits Times is at 2,743, higher by 25 points or 0.9% and Seoul Composite is at 1,605, up 15 points or 0.9%.
