Asian markets end lower

The Asian markets had a weak day of trade. The Hang Seng ended at 21,865, weaker by 292 points or 1.3% and the Nikkei closed at 11,102, lower by 171 points or 1.5%.

Taiwan Weighted ended at 8,111, weaker by 60 points or 0.7%, Seoul Composite closed at 1,734, lower by nine points or 0.5% and Straits Times shut shop at 3,004, down 12 points or 0.4%.

Meanwhile, the European markets have edged lower in early trades. FTSE is quoting at 5,817, weaker by seven points, DAX is at 6,282, lower by nine points and CAC is at 4,062, down three points.

The Asian markets have opened below the dotted line. Hang Seng has opened at 21,888, weaker by 269 points or 1.2% and Nikkei is quoting at 11,121, lower by 152 points or 1.3%.

Taiwan Weighted is quoting at 8,119, weaker by 52 points or 0.6%, Seoul Composite is at 1,728, lower by 15 points or 0.8% and Straits Times is at 3,002, down 14 points or 0.4%.
