Asian markets gain in morning trades

Asian markets are in the green this morning. The Hang Seng has jumped 1% to 22,353. Nikkei has gained 1.5% at 9,606 after exporters like Canon jumped on a smart move in US markets on Friday.

Straits Times has moved up nearly 1% to 3,120. Seoul Composite has added 0.6% to 1,857. Taiwan Weighted and Shanghai Composite are up 0.5% each at 8,210 and 2,606, respectively.
