The Hang Seng has rallied 754 points to 13,333 as the markets re-opened after a gap of five days. The Nikkei has advanced 134 points to 8,241.
The Taiwan Weighted index is up five points at 4,248. The Straits Times is down four points at 1,763, while the Seoul Composite index has added 11 points to 1,169.
The Shanghai Composite index is down 14 points at 1,990.
