Asian markets in red; Nikkei bucks trend

Asian markets are mostly in red this morning depsite a recovery in the US markets.

The Hang Seng has dropped 300 points to 20,785. The Nikkei, however, has gained 172 points at 11,960.

The Taiwan Weighted index has slipped 35 points to 7,970. The Straits Times index has dropped 23 points to 2,769, and the Seoul Composite index is down three points at 1,572.

The Shanghai Composite index has shed 38 points at 3,782.
