Asian markets in red; Shanghai bucks trend

Asian markets are mostly in negative zone in early trades this morning.

The Hang Seng has plunged 276 points to 22,691. The Nikkei has slipped 54 points to 16,263.

The Taiwan Weighted has dropped 56 points to 8676. The Straits Times index has shed 39 points to 3332, and the Seoul Composite index is down 21 points to 1779.

The Shanghai Composite index, however, has zoomed 87 points to 5120.
