Asian markets mixed in early trade

Asian markets exhibited mixed trend in early trades today.

While Japan's Nikkei was down 64 points at 17,770, Hong Kong's Hang Seng moved up 14 points to 20,629.

China's Shanghai Composite index has shed 49 points to 3946.

The Taiwan Weighted index has advanced 20 points to 8359, and the Straits Times has added 13 points to 3559. The Seoul Composite index was up two points at 1718.
