Asian markets mixed; Shanghai up 58pts

Asian markets exhibited mixed trend in morning trades.

China's Shanghai Composite index has soared 42 points to 3992. The Hang Seng has gained 58 points at 20,764.

The Nikkei and Seoul Composite indices are flat at 17,658 and 1583, respectively.

The Taiwan Weighted index has slipped 12 points to 8084, and the KLSE Composite index has declined 11 points to 1355. The Straits Times index is down seven points at 3433.
