Asian markets mostly up; Nikkei gains 166pts

Asian markets are mostly up on the back of a two-day rally on the Wall Street.

The Hang Seng has surged 774 points to 21,882. The Nikkei has gained 166 points at 12,646.

The Straits Times index has advanced 51 points to 2,979, and the Seoul Composite index has added 17 points to 1,672.

However, the Shanghai Composite index has dropped 77 points to 3,549, and the Taiwan Weighted index has shed 64 points at 8,801.
