The Asian markets have opened on a mixed note. The Hang Seng is quoting at 21,045, lower by 59 points or 0.2% and the Nikkei is at 9,186, lower by 26 points or 0.2%.
Seoul Composite is at 1,735, stronger by 13 points or 0.7%, Straits Times is at 2,938, higher by 11 points or 0.3% and Taiwan Weighted is at 7,857, up 27 points or 0.3%.
And Shanghai Composite is trading lower by three points or 0.1% at 2,571.
