The Asian markets have opened mixed with the Nikkei, Jakarta Composite, KLSE Composite and Seoul Composite opening in the red among other indices. The Dow Jones Newswires reporting pre-market sell orders from investors outside the country outnumbering buy orders for the first time in six days dampened the investor sentiment further.
Japanese stocks started the week lower, with strength in the yen and foreign selling weighing heavily on the Japanese market. The Nikkei Stock Average fell 0.7% in early Monday trading but regained some of the lost ground later to trade flat with a negative bias at 9,517, down 0.05%
On the brighter side, Straits Times gained 0.6% while Hang Seng, Taiwan Weighted and NZSE added 0.3% each.
Jakarta Composite, KLSE Composite and Seoul Composite lost between 0.03-0.07%
