The Asian markets have opened on a mixed note. The Hang Seng has slipped 84 points to 19,418. The Nikkei has advanced 127 points (1.5%) to 9,522.
The Shanghai Composite has dropped 15 points to 3,252.
The Taiwan Weighted Index has added 23 points to 6,962.
The Straits Times and the Seoul Composite are flat at 2,453 and 1,483, respectively.
