Taking a cue from the developments in the US markets overnight, the Asian indices have opened in the red.
Hang Seng is quoting at 19,937, weaker by 195 points or 0.9% and the Nikkei has opened at 10,295, lower by 400 points or 3.7%.
Seoul Composite is quoting at 1,648, weaker by 36 points or 2.1%, Taiwan Weighted is at 7,488, lower by 90 points or 1.2% and Straits Times is at 2,810, down 29 points or 1%.
Shanghai Composite is at 2,701, down 38 points or 1.4%.
