Asian markets rally in early trades

Asian markets have posted smart gains in early trades on the back of a smart recovery in the US markets last night.

The Hang Seng has surged 233 points to 22,170. Nikkei has moved up 21 points to 16,935. The Shanghai Composite index is up six points at 4634.

The Taiwan Weighted index has advanced 49 points to 8991, and the Straits Times index has rallied 62 points to 4138. The Seoul Composite index has gained 11 points at 1866.
