Asian markets rally; Nikkei surges 423pts

Asian markets have rallied smartly on the back of strong cues from the Wall Street.

The Hang Seng has rallied 1,010 points to 24,147. The Nikkei has surged 423 points to 13,079.

The Taiwan Weighted index has soared 193 points to 8,613. The Straits Times index has advanced 79 points to 3,126, and the Seoul Composite index has added 36 points to 1,739.

The Shanghai Composite index has gained 70 points at 3,399.
