Asian markets slide; Nikkei down 226pts

Asian markets significantly down 1-2% each.

The Hang Seng has plunged 365 points to 22,252. The Nikkei has dropped 226 points to 12,481.

The Taiwan Weighted index has shed 179 points at 8,589. The Straits Times index has slipped 28 points to 2,968, and the Seoul Composite index has declined 17 points to 1,662.

The Shanghai Composite index has tumbled over 4% (150 points) to 3,456.
